Graduate education in the United Kingdom, contributing to my understanding of health, care and community wellbeing.
JASVIR’S JOURNEY
I am a mother of two, a proud Ward 2 resident of seven years, a hobby farmer, an entrepreneur and a mental-health care-home operator. My family and I call this community home, and I want to keep serving the people who make Halton Hills special.
MY ROOTS
I have been serving others since I was 14, carrying forward the example set by my father. He worked as an electrical engineer for 49 years and, during that time, created employment opportunities for about 450 people from families in need.
He taught me that real service is not about recognition — it is about lifting people up, creating opportunity and being there when someone needs help. That lesson has stayed with me throughout my life and continues to shape how I serve today.
“Real service means lifting others up.”
EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE
My education and professional experience help me understand community challenges from several angles — health, law, technology, language, business and public service.
Graduate education in the United Kingdom, contributing to my understanding of health, care and community wellbeing.
Law graduate in Canada, bringing a strong foundation in advocacy, process, accountability and public institutions.
Trained in information technology and language teaching in England — skills that strengthen communication and practical problem-solving.
Interpreter and translator experience supporting schools, police, courts and community services.
38 YEARS OF COMMUNITY ADVOCACY
My community work has included volunteer and non-volunteer service across many organizations and levels of government. These are some of the areas where I have been proud to contribute.

Providing food, shelter and practical support to people in need, with service grounded in dignity and respect for everyone.

Supporting domestic-violence and welfare initiatives, fundraising and donating to women’s and children’s shelters, and advocating for safer pathways forward.

Donating and sharing food locally, supporting food-bank efforts and helping ensure neighbours facing difficult circumstances are not forgotten.

Supporting youth programs and coaching soccer for years, helping young people build confidence, teamwork, discipline and a stronger connection to community.

Helping raise support for healthcare causes, including the Georgetown Hospital Foundation and other initiatives that strengthen care close to home.

Working with and supporting seniors, mental-health services and shelters — experience that continues through my work operating a mental-health care home.

Supporting animal-welfare efforts and shelters as part of a broader belief that compassionate communities care for people, animals and the environment around them.
COMMUNITY LEADERSHIP TODAY
My commitment to community did not stop with past service. I remain actively involved in organizations supporting agriculture, women, families, hospice care, faith communities, youth and civic life.
WHAT LEADERSHIP MEANS TO ME
“Leadership is about being a people’s voice and being available to everyday residents whenever they need help.”
MY VISION
I want to work with residents and every level of government to make Halton Hills a model community — one that protects its rural identity while creating opportunity and maintaining reliable local services.
As an entrepreneur, business owner and hobby farmer, I understand the importance of supporting local business, protecting agriculture and rural life, creating jobs, improving infrastructure and respecting every tax dollar.
